Parenteral Vitamins

Description

It is a twin-ampoule pack of high strength water-soluble vitamins. Vitamin C is present in part 1 ampoule whereas B12, folic acid and niacinamide are present in part 2 ampoule. The contents of both the ampoules must be thoroughly mixed in the syringe before parenteral administration.

Indications

  • Postoperative convalescence
  • During recovery after critical illness
  • B12, Folic acid, niacinamide and C deficiency states associated with liver disorders, tropical sprue, celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease and severe malabsorption syndrome.
  • Post -GI tract surgery and intestinal resection.
  • Anemia secondary to B12 and folic acid deficiency states.
  • Nutritionally deficient pregnant women and lactating mothers

Presentation

Twin ampoule pack.

Composition

1.5 ml (Part 1) for IM / IV Drip
Each 1.5 ml ampoule contains:

Vitamin C IP 150 mg
Benzyl Alcohol IP'85
as preservative
1% v/v
Water for Injection IP q.s.
Appropriate overages added

1.0 ml (Part 2) for IM / IV Drip
Each 1 ml ampoule contains:

Vitamin B12 IP 2500 mcg
Folic Acid IP 0.7 mg
Niacinamide IP 12 mg
Benzyl Alcohol IP'85
as preservative
1% v/v
Water for Injection IP q.s.
Appropriate overages added
